Council receives funding boost for local Crown Land Georges River Council will be implementing new environmental projects in our local crown land reserves thanks to grant funding from the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF).

A total of $96,670 has been secured by Council for four projects including:

  • $29,980 for the control of weeds at Oatley Park.
  • $25,000 to Georges River Council towards the control of weeds on the Bald Face Point Reserve.
  • $21,780 to Georges River Council towards the control of feral animals on Crown Reserves in the Georges River LGA; and
  • $20,000 to Georges River Council towards the control of weeds at Oatley Point Reserve.

Mayor of Georges River Council Kevin Greene said that the projects will help achieve Council’s goals in the Community Strategic Plan. “Council is committed to a protected environment and green open spaces and active and accessible places and spaces in our Community Strategic Plan” said Mayor Greene.

“This funding boost helps us improve the public places our community really values”.

This funding is part of $51.7 million invested by the NSW Government to revitalise Crown reserves across the state.
