Council recycling trailer makes it easy for community groups to turn trash into cash

Wagga Wagga City Council is helping community groups with a can-do attitude turn their trash into cash.

With the popularity of the Return and Earn container deposit scheme, Council’s environment team has launched the Community Cash 4 Cans recycling trailer (CC4C).

The trailer is available for community, sporting and school groups to use at local events and easily collect eligible drink containers at local events.

“Council has created the trailer to make it easy for the community to raise money, while making sure single-use drink containers are recycled and not going to landfill or ending up as litter,” Environmental Education Officer Sam Pascall said.

“The trailer can hold between 2500 and 3000 cans and bottles, which can be worth hundreds of dollars for your local group or club.

“Local artist Rachel Viski has provided a bright and colourful, recycling-inspired design for the trailer, making it stand out and easy to spot events.”
