Council’s customer service centre hits road

Paying your rates or asking questions about a project in your town just got a lot easier with Council’s Mobile Customer Service Centre set to visit towns and villages on a weekly basis.

In order to increase access to Council’s services for residents, Council will be embarking on a six-month trial of a mobile Customer Service kiosk.

Starting Wednesday 27 January, Council’s customer service staff will set up a mobile office at selected locations across the shire. Staff will be visiting the likes of Stuarts Point, Gladstone, South West Rocks, Crescent Head and Sherwood on a rotating basis.

The kiosk will provide information and resources specific to individual towns and villages and will have the capacity to involve other Council staff, such as engagement or planning teams, to help residents with issues relevant to their area.

Customer Service staff and a representative from Council’s Recovery team will be available to assist residents when the Mobile Service Centre visits Gladstone on 27 January. It will be on Kinchela Street (on the grassed area in front of the Memorial Pool) between 10am to 2pm.

Council’s permanent Customer Service counter on Tozer Street, West Kempsey will remain open between 10am and 4:30pm four days a week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Telephone service hours will remain 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday.
