Bayside Council is reviewing its Community Grants and Donations Policy to ensure it continues to support the needs of our growing and diverse community.
The policy provides the framework for how Council delivers financial and in-kind assistance to community groups, organisations and individuals. It guides funding decisions across a range of programs, including:
- Community Grants
- Donations, including Youth, Seniors and General Support Donations
- Student Excellence Awards
- Fee waivers for Council venues and facilities
The proposed updates build on the existing policy and are designed to make funding opportunities clearer, more accessible and better aligned with Council’s strategic priorities.
The updates include new grant funding streams to provide greater clarity for applicants, reducing the Small Grants funding cap to $1,000, ensuring program-based activities are assessed through the most appropriate funding stream, and increasing funding available for Youth Representation and Seniors Groups that have remained unchanged since 2018.
The updates will help improve the clarity and accessibility of Council’s funding programs, support a more consistent and transparent assessment process and help ensure funding remains relevant and responsive to community needs.
The updated policy is open for Community feedback until Monday 21 September 2026.
