Old office furniture, vehicle parts and abandoned vehicles are among some of the items that will be listed for sale as part of Kempsey Shire Council’s online public auction.
Council are taking the opportunity to raise funds for ongoing business by selling items that are no longer required. In addition to the financial benefit the process will further Council’s commitment to reusing and repurposing materials to avoid over use of landfill.
Pickles Auctions have been engaged to facilitate the auction online from 18 September to 22 September.
Council’s Coordinator Procurement and Fleet Management, Vicki Thomas, said the auction will be an opportuniy for the community to purchase former council assets at an affordable price.
“Staff changes and the refurbishment of offices has resulted in a build up of a variety of items that are no longer needed or used and have been stored in various locations around council,” she said.
“The auction allows council to spring clean in a sense and offload items to people who may be able to use them.”
Auctioneers from Pickles have begun loading items onto the website, with residents able to view them anytime between now and the auction on 18 September.
The auction is open to everyone however purchasers should be advised that no pre-purchase inspections will be available and purchase is as is.
To be involved, you must register on the Pickles website to gain access and to bid for items.
