Counterfeit money, ammunition, drugs seized, man charged in Orange

A man will appear in court today after counterfeit notes, drugs and ammunition were seized during a search of a home in the state’s Central West.

Officers from Central West Police District commenced investigations after receiving information into a counterfeiting operation within the Central West area.

On Wednesday 13 February 2019, officers from Central West Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Molong.

Police will allege they located and seized a number of items, including drugs, ammunition, counterfeit money, counterfeit manufacturing items, prescription pads, prohibited drugs, and other personal items in relation to alleged break, enter and steal offences which occurred at two residential properties in Orange between 11 August 2018 and 7 February 2019.

Following inquiries, about 3pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 March 2019), a 32-year-old man attended Orange Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with the following offences:

– Possess ammunition without holding a licence/permit (x4)

– Goods in personal custody suspected of being stolen (x3)

– Make counterfeit money or prescribed security (x3)

– Possess counterfeit money (x3)

– Possess counterfeiting materials

He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court today (Thursday 7 March 2019).
