COVID-19 Council update: 27 March

A statement from Kelvin Tori, CEO Melton City Council:

As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, Melton City Council is implementing stricter measures to help protect both residents and staff.

In line with government restrictions and advice, we closed all Council-operated community facilities to the general public this week, including libraries and recreation centres, until further notice.

As of Monday, our Civic Centres will be closed to the general public too and we’ll be asking the community use our online services or give us a call.

All non-essential events, activities and programs have also been cancelled for the foreseeable future.

We understand that this impacts our community, but we are acting to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Importantly, our critical and essential services such as aged care, maternal and child health (phone appointments only), immunisation and waste collection will continue with additional precautions in place to protect everyone.
