COVID-19 Financial Relief

Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce it has endorsed a COVID 19 Financial Relief Package during its Ordinary monthly meeting held on Tuesday 26 May 2020.

This program allows ratepayers to opt-in and access $300 of financial relief that will apply to their first 2020/21 rates instalment and future water accounts (to be applied across rates, domestic waste, water and sewer charges collectively).

Shoalhaven City Council CEO Stephen Dunshea confirmed that this funding will be made available in the form of financial relief to Shoalhaven City Council ratepayers during this challenging time of COVID 19.

“Council has committed to offering Shoalhaven ratepayers financial support in the form of rates, waste and water account relief, to assist them better manage the financial impacts of COVID 19.

“Along with other relief measures already announced, Shoalhaven City Council has made it a priority to support the community in as many ways as it can during the global pandemic. Council wants to help reduce the general stress levels across the region and assist people to better cope with their financial challenges,” says CEO Stephen Dunshea.

Shoalhaven ratepayers must advise Council that they wish to receive this financial relief and the most efficient opt-in process is completing the online form that will soon be available on Council’s website. Mr Dunshea also acknowledged that there are ratepayers who will choose not to accept this financial relief from Council as they have been less affected financially during this crisis.
