Campaspe Shire Council has opened up a new one-off grant program to support creative businesses and artisans to activate public spaces and assist in COVID recovery.

General Manager Community, Mr Keith Oberin said the program is dedicated to supporting businesses, incorporated groups, sole traders or individuals unable to work due to the pandemic impacts such as cancelled events, lack of resourcing, restrictions on leaving the home or public gatherings and venue closures.

A total of $60,000 has been allocated to the Creative Active Recovery Grant program offering a maximum of $5,000 and applications are now open.

“Projects or events must be completed by 30 June 2021 and could include anything from a live performance in a public space, to a temporary public art installation or a public event,” Mr Oberin said.

“We are looking for creativity, events or projects that engage the community, have an economic benefit and assist in the pathway to recovery for residents and visitors.”

“We are focused on supporting events or projects that have a direct benefit to our residents and held within our shire.”

Guidelines and an online application form are available on Council’s website, www.campaspe.vic.gov.au/covidgrant

The grant program will close when all funds have been allocated.
