Creswick Aged Care Upgrade Complete

VIC Premier

The Andrews Labor Government is delivering high-quality care to senior Victorians in Western Victoria, with upgrades at Creswick Nursing Home now complete.

Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Colin Brooks today announced the completion of the second stage of the redevelopment funded through the Significant Facility Refurbishment Initiative.

This includes the construction of 12 bedrooms, each with private ensuite, a central living dining and kitchen area, two smaller living rooms, a library space and a landscaped courtyard – complementing the purpose-built dementia specific unit, completed in the first stage.

The design provides a dementia friendly environment accommodating Victorians with complex support needs while enhancing the quality, safety, and amenity of the facilities for all residents and staff.

The works at Creswick Nursing Home are part of the 136 projects that have shared in $45.6 million under the program since 2015, enhancing quality, safety and amenity for aged care residents in public sector residential aged care services across Victoria.

More than $618 million has been invested in infrastructure improvements to public sector aged care services in Victoria since 2014, including more than $320 million in rural and regional Victoria.

As stated by Minister for Disability, Ageing and Carers Colin Brooks

“It is our priority to provide older Victorians with the best possible care in modern and comfortable settings and the upgrade at Creswick Nursing Home will ensure that can happen both now and into the future.”

“The upgraded facility will also ensure dedicated staff can operate in better and more efficient surroundings.”
