Critical incident declared after crash in Cammeray

A critical incident investigation has been declared following a single-vehicle crash on Sydney’s north shore this afternoon.

About 4.40pm (Sunday 13 November 2022), emergency services were called to West Street, Cammeray, following reports a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

Police had initiated and then terminated a pursuit involving the vehicle shortly before the crash.

The driver and four passengers were assisted from the vehicle – which had caught alight – and were treated at the scene by officers prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.

The occupants of the vehicle were taken to various hospitals, in serious and critical conditions.

A critical incident team from Blue Mountains Police Area Command will now investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The investigation will be subject to independent review.
