Crown land holiday parks shine for Earth Hour

Crown land holiday parks across NSW will participate in Earth Hour this Saturday under a Reflections Holiday Parks initiative to champion energy savings.

Reflections manages 37 holiday parks and 43 community reserves on Crown land reinvesting any profits from its operations into the 9,289 hectares of land that it manages on behalf of the NSW Government and people of NSW.

The network of holiday parks will be encouraging guests to turn off all non-essential lighting between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Saturday to support Earth Hour.

Reflections Holiday Parks CEO Nick Baker said Earth Hour was an important global initiative which raised awareness on the importance of saving energy and caring for nature.

As part of its Earth Hour contribution, Reflections will share links to a Earth Hour Film Festival for guests to gain a better understanding of energy consumption and reducing human impact on the planet.

“We operate under a quadruple bottom line, where sustainability and positive environmental outcomes are a significant measure of our success as a group of holiday parks,” Mr Baker said.

“This year’s Earth Hour theme to ‘Shape Our Future’ aligns with Reflections’ values to make a difference in the lives of people, places and our planet.”

Reflections Holiday Parks are currently changing over to smart metering to ensure accurate calculation of energy costs and for more transparency on its energy usage.
