CSIRO celebrates honoured staff

The Australia Day Honours List recognises the outstanding service and contributions of Australians. We congratulate the CSIRO people who were recognised this year for their contributions to science, technology and the community.

These include:

Appointed as an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO)

Dr Brett Sutton, former Chief Health Officer (2019-2023), the Victorian Department of Health, and Regional Australia, Local Government, Arts and Sport (2010-2013), for his distinguished service to the people of Victoria through public health administration and governance, and to medicine. Dr Sutton was recently appointed CSIRO’s Health & Biosecurity Director.

Appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia (AM)

Mark Stickells, CSIRO Executive Director – Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, for his significant service to science, particularly information technology, and to the community.

Emeritus Professor Roy Green, for his significant service to business, and to tertiary education in the fields of science, technology and innovation. Professor Green joined CSIRO’s Board in 2023.
