Cumberland City Council wishes you Happy Lunar New Year

Lunar New Year is a special time that symbolises new beginnings, a fresh start and families coming together.

Council acknowledges the difficult time our community is currently experiencing and the challenges to safely hold a Lunar New Year community event in the Lidcombe Town Centre.

As such, an alternative community event will be announced in the near future and will likely be aligned with the Moon Festival in September, pending the circumstances and safety considerations at that time.

Despite this, Council will continue to celebrate the Lunar New Year around Cumberland with the installation of festive street flag banners across our town centres, rolling out online events such as the bilingual Lunar New Year Story Time, and running competitions such as the Year of the Tiger bookmark competition for children and teenagers at our libraries.
