CV Northern Summer Series cancelled

Cricket Victoria’s Northern Summer Series has been cancelled due to current border restrictions.

The series was to have involved female under 16 Metro and Country squads from Victoria and New South Wales.

Under current restrictions, NSW was unable to bring its Metro squad to the tournament.

Cricket Victoria will now create its own series that will see its Metro and Country squads square off in four matches in Melbourne.

“While we’re disappointed the series couldn’t go ahead, we understand the circumstances and thank Cricket New South Wales and Cricket Albury-Wodonga for their support of the concept,” Cricket Victoria’s High Performance Manager Dean Russ said.

“Despite the ongoing challenges, we’re pleased to still offer our talented female cricketers the opportunity to showcase their skill sets in a representative series to be held in Melbourne.”

The revised series will run from January 18-21.
