We’re replacing the wooden section of the Dalgetty Road beach staircase in Beaumaris. Works will begin from 18 August and are expected to wrap up by late September, weather permitting. The staircase will be closed during works.
The wooden section of the stairs has significant storm damage so we’re replacing this section to better withstand coastal conditions, reduce ongoing maintenance costs and improve community safety long- term. The new staircase will be slightly smaller than the original but will feature reinforced footings to improve long-term weather resilience.
For alternative beach access, please travel south and use the ramp opposite Rennison Street.
