Dance teacher charged over historical sexual abuse of student at Camden, NSW

A dance teacher will appear in court next month over the alleged sexual abuse of a male student in Sydney’s south west 10 years ago.

In June this year, detectives from Camden Police Area Command commenced an investigation following reports a young boy had been sexually abused by a male dance teacher between 2011 and 2012.

Following extensive investigations, detectives executed a search warrant at a home at Harrington Park from 8am yesterday (Tuesday 12 October 2021).

During the search, officers seized a number of electronic devices, which will undergo further forensic examination.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and taken to Narellan Police Station where he was charged with two counts of aggravated indecent assault – victim under authority of offender.

Police will allege in court that the man, who is a dance teacher, sexually abused a male student – then aged between nine and 11 – in Sydney’s south west.

He was granted conditional bail to appear in Picton Local Court on Tuesday 9 November 2021.
