Dangerous driving appeal at Morayfield

Detectives from Caboolture Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are appealing for public assistance following a dangerous driving incident in Morayfield this morning, August 26.

Initial investigations indicate just after 8am, a silver 2008 Volkswagen Golf (pictured) was driving erratically along Morayfield Road and William Berry Drive, allegedly following closely to a silver Holden Commodore.

At approximately 8.20am, the Golf was allegedly involved in a collision with the Commodore going off the road into a ditch along Buchannan Road.

The Golf came to a stop with the Commodore proceeding to a nearby service station where the driver, a 31-year-old Bellmere woman, called for assistance.

The Golf driver, a 29-year-old Beerwah man, left the scene on foot.

He was taken into police custody nearby a short time later and is currently assisting with investigations.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the silver 2008 Volkswagen Golf, with Queensland registration 007GW2, driving erratically between 8am and 9.15am to immediately come forward.

Anyone with relevant CCTV, dashcam or phone vision is also urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing.
