Police have charged two men after an unregistered vehicle was tracked across the Logan and Gold Coast District last night, 22 August.
It will be alleged around 8.00pm, police observed a red Mitsubishi Mirage with no registration plates, driving dangerously through traffic on Kingston Road, Logan Central.
It will be further alleged POLAIR have tracked the vehicle travelling at high speed southbound on the Pacific Motorway, Slacks Creek.
Its further alleged, police activated lights and sirens to intercept with the vehicle on the Pacific Highway, Burleigh Heads with the vehicle failing to stop. Police using a tyre deflation device, successfully stopped the vehicle a short time later with two men fleeing on foot. The men then allegedly entered an address on Croft Court, Tugun where they were located by police and arrested.
A 21-year-old Russell Island man has been charged with one count each of evasion offence, dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving or motor vehicle without a driver licence disqualified, vehicle used on roads must be registered, drive uninsured vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs and enter dwelling with intent in company. He has been held in custody and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court, 24 August.
A 20-year-old Russell Island man was charged with one count of enter dwelling with intent in company and is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court, 4 September.
