Dangerous operation of a vehicle and firearm charges in Park Ridge, QLD

Police have charged a man with multiple offences following the dangerous operation of a vehicle in Park Ridge last night.

At about 8:15pm, police sighted a stolen car travelling along Chambers Flat Road in Chambers Flat.

Police will allege the driver was operating the car in a dangerous manner and driving at high speeds including failing to stop at red lights multiple times. The driver eluded police during this time.

Polair arrived on scene and tracked the stolen car, resulting in two successful tyre deflation deployments, one on Cusack Lane and one on Middle Rd, Park Ridge.

The driver left the vehicle on foot and was arrested a short time later by police.

Police conducted a search of the stolen vehicle locating a knife, a loaded firearm, ammunition and drug utensils.

The 24-year-old Jimboomba man has been charged with 13 offences including two counts of possessing dangerous drugs and one count each of; attempted unlawful entry of a vehicle, authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), dangerous operation of a vehicle, evasion offence, offences involving registration certificates, possession of a knife in a public place, enter premise and commit indictable offence, unlawful entry of vehicle for committing indictable offence, unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage.

He is expected to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court later today (April,3).
