Dangerous operation of stolen vehicle in Aitkenvale, QLD

Detectives are investigating the dangerous operation of a stolen vehicle through Townsville this morning.

Around 3am police were called after members of the public observed a blue Toyota Kluger crash into another vehicle on Beck Road in Condon.

Shortly afterwards the same vehicle was seen colliding with the front driver’s side of a four- wheel-drive along Thuringowa Drive in Kirwan.

The stolen SUV came to a stop in Tulip Street, Aitkenvale where it’s understood a small fire started within the engine bay and was extinguished by members of the public.

Two people were seen escaping the vehicle while it was still travelling at speed.

The Kluger continued before crashing into a parked car and pushing it a number of metres.

Anyone who may have been in the area at the time with dash cam or CCTV is urged to contact police.
