Police have charged a man following a traffic crash in Baringa overnight.
Just before 10pm, police and emergency services were called to Bells Creek Arterial Road to reports a silver Toyota Corolla and a blue Volkswagen Golf had collided and veered off the road.
When officers arrived at the scene, it will be alleged one of the drivers attempted to flee the scene on foot. He was apprehended by officers in nearby bushland a short time later and taken into custody.
A 22-year-old Elimbah man has been issued a Notice to Appear for one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, fleeing the scene of a crash, driving under the influence of liquor, and driving a vehicle whilst plate not attached.
He is due to appear in Caloundra Magistrates Court on 10 December.
