On the back of their biggest program yet, the 2026 betr Darwin Triple Crown will introduce twilight and night racing in 2027.This year’s Supercars program includes with Super2, monster trucks, Summernats Goes Top End, Track to Town, a movie screening, and family activities across Darwin and Palmerston. The Finocchiaro CLP Government is backing motorsports and major events as we restore our unique, Territory lifestyle, support local jobs, and grow the visitor economy.

As the Darwin Supercars rev into their biggest program on record, the Territory is already set to raise the bar again, with twilight and night racing confirmed for 2027.

This comes as the Supercars Convoy roared into Palmerston and Darwin, marking the launch of the 2026 Darwin Supercars.

Minister for Tourism and Hospitality and Minister for Major Events, Marie-Clare Boothby, said the Territory was leading the way when it comes to motorsports and major events.

“The Territory is absolutely in pole position – there’s nowhere better for motorsports and major events, and next year we’re taking it up another level,” Minister Boothby said.

“Twilight races and night racing will unlock a raft of opportunities for Territorians and visitors to enjoy all we have to offer: sunset markets and hospitality venues, parks and one-of-a-kind events.

“There’s nowhere like the Territory, and once again, the Darwin Supercars absolutely prove that to be true.”

“In our year of growth, certainty, and security, we are continuing to back local, sport and major events as we restore our lifestyle.”

Minister for People, Sport and Culture, Jinson Charls, said this was a huge win for Territorians.

“We already know that the Territory is the premier location for motor-sports – for both elite and emerging talent. This latest announcement cements that reputation,” Minister Charls said.

“It’s a big win for locals, as well as for local businesses, as a twilight finish will push crowds straight into our hospitality venues – from the CBD to the Northern Suburbs and every in between.”

Supercars Executive Chairman and Interim Chief Executive Officer, Barclay Nettlefold, said bringing night racing to Darwin would make the Triple Crown one of the standout events of the season.

“Adding night racing to the Darwin Triple Crown is a major evolution for an event that is already a favourite among our fans, teams, and drivers,” Mr Nettlefold said.

“There is nothing quite like Supercars under lights – the noise, the energy and the atmosphere create an incredible spectacle – and bringing that energy to the Territory in 2027 will make the Darwin Triple Crown one of the standout events of the season.

“As we look ahead to a huge 2026 event this weekend, we know fans will already be excited about what’s to come in 2027 and the first-ever Supercars night race in the NT.”
