Dashboard Insight Into Council-funded Capital Works

Community members can explore the dozens of infrastructure projects fully or co-funded by Council underway in Greater Geelong through the City’s Capital Works projects dashboard.

There are 67 capital works projects featured in the interactive online map in different stages of development, including inception, planning, delivery, design, construction and completion/handover.

Twenty projects are in the construction stage including the Leopold Tennis Pavilion and Bell Park Sport and Recreation Club Changeroom, while seven are being designed, such as the Rippleside Inclusive Playspace and Aldershot Reserve Fenced Dog Park.

Planning is underway for new sports lighting at the Waurn Ponds Tennis Club and an upgrade of the Lara Driving Range.

The recently opened Northern Aquatic and Community Hub in Norlane, St Leonards foreshore pavilion and Barwon Heads Bowling Club pavilion are among the 18 projects listed as completed or being handed over.

Mayor Trent Sullivan

It is exciting to see the breadth of Capital Works projects happening across the region.

We are working hard to deliver fit for purpose and modern infrastructure to meet our growing community’s needs.

It’s worth having a look at the interactive platform and checking out what new and upgraded facilities are popping up around where you live.

Deputy Mayor Anthony Aitken

The dashboard is important for transparency and will increase awareness of Council’s activities.

We’re pleased to make the data from our Capital Works projects publicly available and provide insights into our infrastructure planning process.

We also have a Geelong Data Exchange which encompasses a wide range of datasets about land use, tree data, weather, population statistics and more.

The Geelong Data Exchange’s Major Projects dashboard features data about capital works projects valued over $10 million from across Greater Geelong and also the Borough of Queenscliffe, Surf Coast Shire, Golden Plains Shire and Colac Otway Shire.

The dashboard shows 161 projects worth $13.4 billion being planned, approved, underway or recently completed in the Barwon region.
