DavId dodges numbers once again

Michael Ferguson,Minister for Infrastructure and Transport

While David O’Byrne conveniently forgets the disastrous Labor-Green years when his government underspent the infrastructure budget by 34 per cent, Tasmanians have not.

When Labor should have been investing in roads, bridges and hospitals, the former failed Infrastructure Minister David O’Byrne and his Labor comrades cosied up with the Greens and underspent the infrastructure budget by $148 million. This was at a time of economic crisis for the state, and the infrastructure spending could have created 1,000 jobs.

In stark contrast the Hodgman majority Liberal Government’s $676 million infrastructure spend in 2018-19 is a 230 per cent increase on Dave’s dodgy budget cuts.

That’s the record. They are the facts.

We are delivering the inter-generational infrastructure Tasmanians need now and into the future, with a record $3.6 billion investment locked into our Budget.

The Hodgman majority Liberal Government has a long-term plan for Tasmania and we are delivering it. In contrast, Labor has no plan, they stand for nothing and they simply cannot be trusted.

You simply cannot trust David O’Byrne and Labor with the truth or to build the infrastructure our growing state needs.
