Investigations are continuing to formally identify the remains of a deceased person located in Moreton Bay on Monday.
Police have formally advised the families of two missing fisherman who went missing on August 10 that a body was located by a member of the public on August 26 at 8.30am.
Investigations by police and the Coroner’s office are continuing to establish any links to the missing fisherman, aged 32 and 25.
Police wish to acknowledge the co-operation of both families and their thoughts remain with them at this very difficult time.
An air, sea and land search was conducted for the two men missing in Moreton Bay after their boat was reported overdue on August 11 and concluded on August 16.
The empty boat was located submerged west of Green Island at 5:05pm on August 11.
