Deliberately lit unit fire Marion, South Australia

Police are investigating a suspicious house fire at Marion this morning.

Just after 5am Wednesday 30 January police and fire crews were called to Jacob Street after reports that the front of a house was on fire. When emergency services arrived they found a small fire had burnt a patch of lawn and caused minor damage to the front of a unit.

The fire appears to have been deliberately lit with an accelerant possibly used. Police also located a bag containing a substance on the roof of the unit that may have been used in the attack, however it did not ignite. The occupants were at home at the time but were not injured.
