Delivering For Kiama – When Weather May Get Tricky

Kiama Council

The weather forecast is looking pretty wet for the next couple of days and the Bureau of Metrology and the SES have advised that there is a chance of some localised flooding north and south of Kiama and inland.

We can’t stop the rain; however, we are doing the preparation works that we can including:

  • Ensuring drainage facilities that normally have issues with heavy rain are clear
  • Making sure we have sand bags and signs ready for the roads that are quickly inundated such as Swamp Road
  • Being ready to open the Werri lagoon if the opening threshold is reached
  • Implementing some temporary stormwater protections at the Jamberoo Pre-School and at a shop on Terralong Street
