Are you concerned about your memory or worried that someone you know may have dementia? Dementia Australia is offering support in Alice Springs, Northern Territory between 15-17 September, 2026.

It is estimated there are 1,850 people living with dementia in the Northern Territory. Without a medical breakthrough this number is expected to increase to more than 3,600 people living with dementia by 2054. 

The Dementia Australia sessions are an opportunity for people living with dementia, their carers, family, and friends to attend free education to better understand dementia and to discuss the support and services Dementia Australia can provide.

Understanding Dementia This session provides an introduction to dementia including an overview of different types of dementia, diagnosis, planning ahead and how to support someone living with dementia. Tuesday 15 September 2026, 10am-12noon ACST, Alice Springs

Dementia and Design Join our free workshop on dementia-friendly design to learn how your community organisation or business can encourage engagement by ensuring that physical spaces foster independence, dignity and wellbeing. Wednesday 16 September 2026, 4pm-5pm ACST, Alice Springs

Communication and Dementia The session provides information on dementia, the way we communicate and how changes in communication can occur as a result of dementia. Thursday 17 September, 10am-12noon ACST, Alice Springs
