Dendy Park Closure For Irrigation Upgrade

On Wednesday, 4 November we’re commencing works on the Dendy Park sportsground irrigation upgrade. We’re installing a fit-for-purpose irrigation system, and all 5 lower Dendy Park sportsgrounds will be closed (fenced with no access) between November 2026 and March 2027.

The project aims to maintain optimal turf condition and performance, enhance sportsground usability and safety, and support long-term turf integrity and the sustainability of associated infrastructure. We’ve worked closely with tenant clubs, Sporting Associations and Cricket Victoria to minimise disruption to the regular sports season.

The areas surrounding the perimeter fencing, including the Cummins and Studley Roads pathways, and Dendy South playground/Pétanque piste area, are available for off-leash dog exercise. Please be responsible and respectful when exercising your dog and help to maintain the area surrounding these grounds:

  • Stop your dog from digging – holes are dangerous and can cause injury for both people and pets. If your dog digs, please ensure you fill the hole immediately.
  • Always scoop the poop and bin it.
  • Maintain effective control.
  • Never let your dog run at or jump on others.
  • Put your dog back on leash if you need to.
  • Ask permission before approaching people or dogs.
