We’re still working hard behind the scenes to deliver wonderful new facilities at Dendy Street Beach for our life savers and the community in the not too distant future.
Council is awaiting the outcome of an appeal to the Supreme Court of the 2019 VCAT decision. The appeal is scheduled to be heard in November this year.
While we wait for the legal process to take its course, work is continuing on detailed designs for the new life-saving pavilion and associated landscaping and upgrade to the unsightly storm water drain currently in front of the old pavilion.
We are also continuing to work with the EPA to resolve soil contamination discovered during site assessments for the pavilion project.
Our work in the background means that should the Supreme Court dismiss the appeal, we can commence the construction process.
