  • Ross Love departs Water Corporation Board to take up overseas role
  • Long-serving Deputy Mr David Lock appointed interim Chair
  • Mr Love thanked for his valued contribution to Water Corporation’s Board

Water Minister Simone McGurk acknowledges outgoing Water Corporation Chair Ross Love for his leadership and service to the organisation’s Board of Directors over the past three years.

Mr Love, who was appointed to the role in September 2020, will step down effective immediately to pursue business opportunities overseas.

He will be replaced in an interim capacity by long-serving board member and current Deputy Chair David Lock.

In recognising Mr Love’s tenure, Minister McGurk said his experience across the public and private sector had made a valuable contribution to Water Corporation’s strategic direction and governance practices.

An experienced executive and consultant, Mr Love was Managing Partner with Boston Consulting Group in New York for 25 years and held various positions with organisations spanning corporate and Government sectors, including airports, commuter rail, retail and resources.

A new appointment to fill the vacancy left by Mr Love will be announced in coming months.

As stated by Water Minister Simone McGurk:

“I understand Ross has not taken this decision lightly and wish to thank him for his contribution to Water Corporation since 2020.

“There is much our State’s biggest water utility should be proud of, from progressing Perth’s next desalination plant, to assuming responsibility for water services in Aboriginal communities and working towards net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

“All of this is done under the guidance of the Board, which moving forward will be ably led by interim Chair David Lock.”
