Designs released for new Queenscliff boat ramp

Vic Department of Transport

The final concept design for the Queenscliff boat ramp upgrade has been released, with plans to make it easier for boaters to get out on the water than ever before.

The design includes more boat ramp lanes, new pontoons and separate kayak access, as well as 89 marked parking spaces for cars and boat trailers.

Better Boating Victoria worked closely with the Queenscliff community to develop the final design, which will improve the overall safety of the facility, with better traffic flow and safer pedestrian access.

A reference group will be established to help ensure ongoing community engagement during the upgrade. The structure and the terms of reference for this group will be worked through in the coming weeks.

This upgrade is part of the State Government’s $47.2 million investment to improve boating facilities across the state and is one of six priority locations that will be upgraded to meet recreational boating demands as Melbourne’s population grows.

Construction is expected to get underway next year.
