Police are appealing for information after a reported kidnapping and house fire in Wagga Wagga nearly two years ago.
About 11am on Friday 21 September 2018, police were called to a home on Lae Avenue, Ashmont, following reports a man was being held against his will.
Officers from Riverina Police District attended and commenced inquiries; however, no one was located at the home.
A short time later, police were called to the same address following reports of a house fire.
Police have been told two men were seen leaving the area on a ride-on lawn mower around the time of the fire.
Local detectives established Strike Force Edgecliff to investigate the incidents, which police believe are linked.
As part of their inquiries, detectives would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them.
One of the men is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with short hair. At the time he was wearing white clothing and a baseball cap.
The second man is described as having olive skin and dark shoulder length hair in dreadlocks.
Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity at the time of the incident, is urged to come forward.
Inquiries are continuing.
