Visitors to the Collie area will soon benefit from a new suspension bridge offering spectacular views up and down the Collie River Valley.
The Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions has released a tender for the design and construction of a suspension bridge spanning over the Collie River.
The 100-metre pedestrian bridge will be located on the recently upgraded Flora Road and will be linked by trails, leading to a lookout over the Collie River.
This bridge will form an integral part of the 72km, five-day Wiilman Bilya walk trail around Wellington Dam, taking visitors through Wellington National Park and the soon to be Wellington Dam Mega Mural.
This project is funded as part of the McGowan Government’s $10 million Collie Adventure Trails initiative, which will see Collie developed as a world class mountain bike and trail adventure destination.
The new bridge will assist in the State Government’s commitment to deliver an integrated tourism experience across the region that will increase the total number of visitors, the number of repeat visits, and extend the length of stays.
