Police have charged two men with drug offences in Sydney’s east yesterday as part of Strike Force Northrop.
Redfern Region Enforcement Squad (RES) are proactively investigating the supply and possession of cocaine within the Central Metropolitan Region, targeting suspected ‘dial-a-dealer’ activity.
About 1.15pm (Friday 21 February 2020), officers attached to Redfern RES observed two men inside a black Holden Barina parked on McDonald Street, Paddington.
One man exited the Holden from the front passenger side and was stopped by police.
The 26-year-old man was allegedly found with one bag of cocaine and was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
Shortly after, the driver of the Holden was stopped by police and upon searching the vehicle, officers allegedly located five bags of cocaine, cannabis, cash and a mobile phone.
The driver, a 26-year-old man from Wentworth Point, was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
He was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, deal with proceeds of crime and drive while licence cancelled.
He appeared at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 22 February 2020) where he was granted conditional bail to reappear at Downing Central Local Court on Friday 6 March 2020.
