Disability Inclusive Emergency Planning Workshop

The City of Casey is reaching out to our valued community members living with disabilities and carers. We want to hear your input to help us enhance our emergency planning processes by coming along to our Disability Inclusive Emergency Planning Forum this month.

By actively involving individuals with disabilities and carers, we can better understand their unique needs and ensure that our emergency management strategies are inclusive and effective.

The forum will cover several important topics related to emergency management, with a focus on disability inclusion. The agenda includes discussions on approaches to emergency management, factors that increase risk for people with disabilities, strategies to reduce risk and enhance the resilience of individuals with disabilities during disasters, and local community assets that can be shared to keep everyone safe before, during, and after emergencies.

The Disability Inclusive Emergency Planning Forum will take place on Thursday July 20 from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm at the Eliston Family and Community Centre, Clyde.

To participate please register on our website – we encourage all individuals with disabilities, their caregivers, and service providers from the community, health, and disability sectors to attend and actively contribute to the discussion.

Your participation and input are crucial in shaping our emergency planning strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of all members of our community.
