Disability Sports Australia Partners with MatchWorks

Disability Sports Australia (DSA) is pleased to announce a national collaboration with MatchWorks. The partnership aims to amplify each organisation’s branding and awareness through partnering on a variety of Disability Sports Australia’s existing programs. It will additionally support people with disabilities gain better employment outcomes through participation in the sport and leisure sector.

MatchWorks is a community-based not-for-profit organisation that helps people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities find the right job. Their Workforce Australia and Disability employment services are supported by the Federal Government. They help employers create strong and welcoming work environments through regular post-placement check-ins.

MatchWorks will be embedded across DSA’s core programming including the National Referral Hub, Activate Inclusion Sports Days, Sports Incubator, and Toyota Wheelchair AFL National Championships as an Associate Sponsor.

In time, this partnership will amplify the work of DSA’s members in each state to support people with disabilities to be active.

DSA General Manager- Programs and Partnerships Ayden Shaw is thrilled with this partnership stating,

“It was clear from the moment we connected with the team at Matchworks that there were significant synergies across our organisations.

“In recent months we have met regularly to map out what a meaningful partnership could look like. We know people with disabilities are more than twice as likely to be unemployed. We look forward to working with the MatchWorks team to create new employment opportunities in the sport, recreation and leisure sector.”

MatchWorks Group General Manager, Sue Osman, is very proud of the collaboration and agrees there are strong synergies between the two organisations. Osman believes the partnership with Disability Sports Australia is the perfect example of MatchWorks’ commitment to supporting people with a disability holistically throughout their journey into meaningful employment.

MatchWorks have been included as a preferred partner on the National Referral Hub. This will help people with disabilities find employment opportunities across Australia.
