Discovery Ranger applications open

Roger Jaensch, Minister for Parks

Take a walk on the wild side by applying to become a Discovery Ranger with the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service.

Minister for Parks, Roger Jaensch, said applications are now open for the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service Discovery Ranger Program.

“The Discovery Ranger Program helps connect locals and visitors alike to Tasmania’s natural environment by providing educational programs across the state’s reserve estate,” Minister Jaensch said.

“This important Program also helps raise visitor awareness of the ‘Leave No Trace’ principles and delivers opportunities for guided walks and talks.

“Discovery Rangers also partner with local councils and volunteer organisations to help raise awareness of the importance of Tasmania’s natural and cultural values.”

Discovery activities are often run within Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair, Freycinet, Mt Field, Stanley, Bruny Island and Narawntapu.
