A man has been extradited from the ACT and charged following an investigation into a serious crash north of Canberra late last year.
About 8.45am on Wednesday 16 December 2020, emergency services were called to Gundaroo Road at Gunning, following reports two Mazda 3 sedans had collided head-on.
It’s alleged the driver of a grey Mazda 3 failed to negotiate a right-hand bend and collided head-on with a white Mazda 3 sedan.
The driver, a 33-year-old man, and a male passenger in the grey Mazda and two women in the white Mazda were taken to Canberra Hospital with serious injuries.
Officers from Monaro Police District attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Following further inquiries, the 33-year-old man – disqualified from driving for life in NSW and ACT – was extradited from the ACT yesterday (Wednesday 20 January 2021), and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station, where he was charged with the following offences:
– dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous (x2)
– cause bodily harm by misconduct, in charge of motor vehicle (x3)
– negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm)
– negligent driving, and
– not keep left of dividing line.
The ACT man was refused bail to appear in Queanbeyan Local Court today (Thursday 21 January 2021).
