Disqualified driver charged after pursuit at Dubbo, NSW

A man will face court next month following a pursuit in the state’s Central West yesterday.

About 2.25am on Tuesday (30 June 2020), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District were patrolling the streets of Dubbo, where they attempted to stop a vehicle on Baird Drive, Dubbo.

The vehicle allegedly failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated travelling through streets in Dubbo.

A short time later the vehicle entered the grounds at Dubbo Base Hospital where it came to a stop and the driver exited.

Police allege the driver, a 21-year-old man, violently resisted arrest and was subdued a short time later and taken to Dubbo Police Station.

He was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.

The man was refused bail and appeared at Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 30 June 2020), and was again remanded in custody to appear at Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday 25 August 2020.
