Dive right in for pool season this summer

Residents, ratepayers and visitors will have the chance to be more active, more often with free casual entry to outdoor pools beginning Sunday 1 December.

Patrons will gain access to the Broadford Outdoor Pool, Seymour War Memorial Outdoor Pool and Tallarook Outdoor Pool casually for free. However, some special outdoor pool events may attract an entry fee and admission to Kilmore Leisure Centre and Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre will still attract normal admission prices.

All outdoor pools are being prepared so families and residents can dive right in.

Outdoor pools and the Community Bank® Adventure Playground will re-open to the public on Sunday 1 December and the team at Mitchell Shire Council have been hard at work to make sure the pools are summer ready.

The Splash Park at the Community Bank® Adventure Playground in Wallan is ready for action.

Mitchell Shire outdoor pools will open when the air temperature forecast by the Bureau of Meteorology reaches 26 degrees or greater. Operating hours may vary due to changing temperatures and/or patronage levels.

Lifeguards are also refreshing their skills and responsibilities to keep everyone safe this summer, although remembering all children under the age of 10 must be actively supervised by a responsible adult as part of Council’s Watch Around the Water policy.

Mitchell Shire’s outdoor pools will hold a range of activities through the summer including aqua classes, learn to swim lessons, pool inflatables, dive in movie nights and early morning lap swimming.

The outdoor pools and splash park may also be closed at any time for maintenance or safety reasons, including dangerous weather conditions, sometimes with very short notice to members and guests. These changes will be communicated immediately via the Mitchell Shire Leisure Services Facebook page.
