Would you like a garden that attracts native wildlife?
Warrnambool City Council is looking to gauge the community’s interest in a Gardens for Wildlife program.
Gardens for Wildlife programs encourage residents to support wildlife by planting locally indigenous or selected native plants.
The Warrnambool landscape is made up of many parcels of public and private land which can provide a diversity of habitats for different plants and animals.
Council wants to partner with the community to design and implement a Gardens for Wildlife program for Warrnambool.
“Council will run an information session to determine the level of interest in this proposal,” Warrnambool Mayor Cr Tony Herbert said.
“If you’ve ever contemplated how you might attract or support more native wildlife in your backyard, this is a great opportunity..
“You do not need to be an experienced gardener to be involved.”
The information session will be held at the Archie Graham Community Centre on Wednesday, October 30, 6.30pm to 7.30pm.
