The Doctors Reform Society NSW Vice President Dr Robert Marr is being awarded an Order of Australia Medal for services to medicine at Government House in Sydney today and stated that he dedicated his Order of Australia to PM Bob Hawke who established Medicare as Australias universal health insurance system.
“I have been a medical doctor since 1974 and the greatest medical achievement I have witnessed in Australia in all my life has been the establishment of Medicare by PM Bob Hawke.I dedicate my Order of Australia Medal to the memory of PM Bob Hawke”said Dr Robert Marr vice president of NSW Doctors Reform Society.
