Police are calling on Melbourne road users including pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists and motorists to take care and to obey the road rules during operation “Don’t Do Your Dash” this Thursday (27 June).

The operation, which has been run a number of times over recent years, will focus on behaviour of all road users at some of the highest risk intersections in the CBD.

“All road users in the CBD need to ensure they are obeying traffic signals,” said Acting Senior Sergeant Robert Milliken.

“Whether you’re driving, riding a bike or walking through some of our busiest intersections, you have to have an awareness of the traffic conditions”

“We don’t want pedestrians to be injured or killed while doing something as simple as crossing the road.”

The operation will run in the Melbourne CBD frotttm 8am.
