Mount Taylor Fire Brigade has recently received Lakes Entrance Fire Brigade support vehicle as a donation from one brigade to another.
Last fire season $5.3 in donations was received by nominated brigades or districts across the state to spend at their discretion. Recipients were predominantly brigades impacted by the summer’s fires.
With these donations Lakes Entrance Brigade was able to purchase a new field command vehicle, therefore no longer needed their current support vehicle and generously donated it to the Mount Taylor Fire Brigade.
The Mount Taylor brigade will make a few upgrades to the vehicle before using it to respond to any incident when required.
$20.5m in donations was received over the extreme 2019-20 fire season. Funds were allocated in consultation with the CFA volunteer representative body, Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria, and in line with suggestions and requests from members.
Mount Taylor Brigade Captain Geoff Crane said it’s fantastic to have local brigades helping each other out.
“A big thank you to the Lakes Entrance Brigade and to everyone involved who made this happen and to the community members, businesses and general public for their generosity in making these donations.
“We look forwarded to using our new vehicle this fire season.”
