Donburn Shopping Centre Carpark Upgrades In October

Manningham Council

We’re upgrading the pedestrian crossing, street lighting and surfacing at the Donburn Shopping Centre carpark this October. Traffic controllers are onsite to help people move safely through the area.

All shops remain open during construction. Thank you to local businesses and visitors for your patience and understanding as we improve local road safety for everyone who lives, works and travels in the area.

Map showing the location of the proposed pedestrian crossing on Blackburn Road near Doncaster Shopping Centre. The crossing is highlighted with a red circle on the eastern side of Blackburn Road, adjacent to the shopping centre car park access. An inset map provides a closer view of the crossing location, including the pedestrian crossing markings, kerb ramps and surrounding footpath connections. Nearby streets including George Street and Nonda Avenue are labelled.

We have also delivered safer pedestrian crossing points at:

  • Rosella Street, south of Cassowary Street in Doncaster East, improving safety and accessibility for people walking to Beverley Hills Primary School and the Rosella Street shopping strip.
  • Serpells Road and Tuckers Road intersection in Templestowe, helping create a safer route for students travelling to Serpell Primary School.
  • St Clement of Rome Primary School in Bulleen, designed to slow approaching vehicles and complement the recently installed solar streetlight to improve visibility.
