Doyle right pick to lead wollongong’s economic development

The Illawarra Business Chamber has today welcomed the appointment of Mr Greg Doyle to the role of General Manager at Wollongong City Council as the ideal combination of experience and economic focus for the region.

Mr Doyle’s appointment comes at the ideal time to lead an invigorated Council that has a significantly increased focus on economic development, according to Illawarra Business Chamber Executive Director, Adam Zarth.

“Mr Doyle is highly respected by stakeholders across the region and brings with him a strong record of achieving results in service and infrastructure delivery in his prior roles with Council,” said Mr Zarth.

Overnight Council endorsed its draft Economic Development Strategy 2019-2029, which will be released for public exhibition shortly.

“I welcome the comments by Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery AM this morning that economic development will be a core focus of Council moving forward.”

“Mr Doyle has been appointed synonymously with the development of this strategy, which we view as highly encouraging.”

“The Illawarra Business Chamber has a strong partnership and working relationship with Council and we look forward to engaging with Mr Doyle and his team into the future to realise the ambitions of the regional economy and attractive place to do business,” said Mr Zarth.
