Council has endorsed the public exhibition of the Draft Hazelbrook Area Recreation Masterplan and the Draft Gloria Park Plan of Management, that will help guide the prioritisation, development and maintenance of recreation opportunities in the Hazelbrook Area and Gloria Park.

Both documents are available to view on Council’s Have Your Say website, together with more information on how to make a submission.

Go to: yoursay.bmcc.nsw.gov.au/hazelbrook-recreation and make your submission before 5pm Monday 11 September 2023.

A Council Information Stall will also be held at Hazelbrook Village Shops, 9am to 1pm on Saturday, 19 August 2023.

At the stall, the community will have the opportunity to ask questions, talk about local recreation opportunities and review the Hazelbrook Area Recreation Masterplan and the Gloria Park Plan of Management.

As part of the submission process, we are also asking the community to answer a short survey on the Hazelbrook Area Recreation Masterplan. Answers to the survey questions will assist Council in setting priorities for recreation projects in Hazelbrook.

Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill, said: “Our community is a wellspring of local knowledge with a day-to-day experience of how our parks, play areas, walking tracks and sports grounds are used, and what may be done to improve them.

“Community feedback on the potential recreation projects we’ve flagged will make sure that both documents best reflect the community’s priorities.

“We know residents have different views, preferences and needs and there’s always a balance that needs to be struck. What’s important is that those with an interest let us know their views – what are your priorities concerning recreation in Hazelbrook?

“Make a submission outlining your thoughts and please take the time to complete the survey on the Masterplan – it’s a helpful guide for collating your views on the priorities we’ve identified.”

Following the exhibition of these draft documents and review of all submissions, new versions will be developed and presented to Council for consideration.
