Draft streetscape policies out for public comment

Two draft policies which influence Warrnambool streetscapes are now out for public comment.

“We’re seeking feedback from the community on the Warrnambool Street Tree Planting and Management Policy and the Nature Strip Policy,” Warrnambool City Council Acting Chief Executive Officer Vikki King said.
“Warrnambool residents take enormous pride in the appearance of our city so we’re keen to hear what people think of these documents.
“Our streetscapes are a key part of Warrnambool’s appeal and overall liveability.
“Council is responsible for the planning, establishment, care and removal of all street trees located within the municipality’s streetscapes.
“The Street Tree Planting and Management Policy and the accompanying guidelines provide a framework for the consistent management of Warrnambool’s street trees.
“Similarly, our Nature Strip Landscaping Policy and Guidelines also provide a framework for the consistent management of nature strip landscaping throughout the municipality.
“I encourage everyone who is interested in our streetscapes to go to www.yoursaywarrnambool.com.au where you can read the draft policies and send us feedback.”
Copies of the draft policies and guidelines will also be made available in the Civic Centre.
Submissions close on November 30.
